Does A Blender Work The Same As A Juicer?

Though often perceived to be the same thing, these two machines work very differently. A juicer separates the liquid from the pulp of the fruit, but a blender will blend the entire fruit together. 

The definition of blending is to mix or combine substances together, whereas to juice something means to extract the juice from the fruit or vegetable. 

So if you decide to juice your fruits and vegetables, then you will end up with a glass of liquid with all the pulp separated from what you will drink. 

On the other hand, if you choose to blend your consumable items, then you will turn the fruits and vegetables into a liquid-like pulp that would be better defined as a smoothie.

But is it really that different? In both cases you still get the nutrients from the fruit. So does it really matter?

Unlike juicing, with this option you can keep all the fiber which can aid in your digestion. It can also be ideal for weight loss since drinking blended fruit will make you feel fuller. 

Another great addition to blending is the ability to add a much wider variety of ingredients. Some add nuts, seeds, yoghurts, creams and all manner of heavier foods which you would not be able to add to a juice. This can be a great way to implement other dietary needs you have into your blended drink.

Whether you choose to go with a blender or a juicer, you should take into account your diet, your expenses, and your taste preferences. For both options, you should make sure you use the same amount of fruit even though you will reap a smaller drink from juicing. 

You should also be aware that the brand and quality of juicer or blender can drastically affect the standard of your beverage, and therefore, the benefits you get out of it. 

Blenders and juicers are not the same but both can be beneficial if used correctly in accordance to your personal needs.
